"As a child, everyone is an artist. The difficulty lies in remaining one as an adult. "(Pablo Picasso)
Too often, we combine creativity with art - but in reality, creativity is so much more. Finding an original idea or solving a particular problem requires a profoundly creative process. We use creativity in so many different aspects of our lives without being fully aware of it. In truth, people are rarely creative in an abstract way. To be creative, all we have to do is do what we really love. That alone is enough to stimulate our own imagination. In every profession we can live our creativity no matter if as a cook or as an entrepreneur. But to do that, we need to restore confidence in our own ideas. This is a process that does not work overnight. Especially if you have lost confidence in yourself and in your own creativity. |
Watercolor is a very special medium for me. There are so many techniques and nuances to use the color pigments. Water is the elixir of life and therefore so important for me in painting too.
Too much or too little water used at the wrong time can create unexpected complications—or it can provide some exquisite results. There is so much beauty to be found in its fickle temperament. Watercolor flows and it glows. It moves and dances unlike any other type of paint, allowing the painter to move and dance with it. The luminous quality of the paint can provide a freshness in a creation of art that is unique to watercolor. It is watercolor’s changeable nature that makes it so exciting. Due to watercolor’s temperament, it can be difficult to know where to begin. Some of us have to ease into it and others just take the plunge. And when you think you have it all figured out—it will surprise you with more possibilities. Trying to understand it can take a lifetime, but once it has a hold of you, it can be a love affair that lasts many, many years. |

When you create your own mandala, think of it as an echo of your soul. Drawing and coloring a mandala can be a highly enriching personal experience in which you look inside yourself and find the shapes, colors and patterns to represent anything from your current state of mind to your most deeply-desired wish for yourself, for a loved one, or for humanity. You can design a mandala to symbolize a state of mind that you would like to achieve. Mandalas are great tools for meditation and increasing self-awareness. Many different cultures around the world use mandalas in their spiritual practices. The best thing about designing your own Mandals is that you have the freedom to choose whatever shapes and colors that you feel express your sense of self and your view of reality. Your mandala is yours, and you have the freedom to use your creativity to create a mandala drawing that is uniquely you. |
